A Day With Shige

Team KIT spent Friday with Yoshiet's father Shige. First we went to Ueno Park . The park has the oldest zoo in Japan and is surrounded by many museums. We went into an art museum which was displaying the 100 views of Edo collection of paintings. I really enjoyed the classic Japanese art. We then ate lunch at a restaurant which overlooks Shinobazu Pond.

Shige is a lot of fun to spend time with. He knows a lot about the history of Japan. He is also well versed in technology, he even has his own website. Shige also took us to Sunshine city in Ikebukuro. Sunshine 60 is Tokyo's oldest City within the City with the 262 yard tall Sunshine 60 skyscraper at its center. He told us that he lived nearby Sunshine city when he was a child but his house burnt down in one of the firebombing raids during WW II, so his family moved.

The day ended as any good day should - with a McFlurry from McDonalds.
